(no subject)
Sep. 7th, 2010 06:34 pmSo today was interview day. I don't like interviews, because I suck and ramble a lot, and don't actually have much experience of them. My interview for Safeway's involved questions about whether the flour would set of asthma and whether I could work weekends, my interview for the uni job was basically "yeah, we're fairly sure we're gonna hire you, we just want to check you're not a raving lunatic and can actually understand what we're asking of you and what sort of subjects you're capable of working with". The Geismar interview was basically a test to see if I could tolerate Pascal and Mike (I could) and the few other interviews that I have had have mostly been along those lines. Apart from the John Lewis one, but that involved group exercises and observing staff on the shop floor and being told that I'd have to wear an extra layer to hide my tattoos because they show through white shirts.
So yeah, it was all a bit scary. I hope it went ok, it would be a cool job, and the people seem nice. That they only seemed to interviewing and testing six people was a bit weird (it being a similar role to the one I had at uni, and there were a lot of people doing that job) but eh.
I had something interesting to post about, but buggered if I can remember what it was.
Looks like we'll have new people coming to LARP this weekend, the one weekend this year when I won't be there, and when things could go horribly wrong. Or not, it's going to be the week after apparently, which I will be there for (although playing) which is slightly more reassuring (although also terrifying as the party consists of a Priestess of sex, drugs and lies, an assassin in training and a noble layabout).
Tomorrow is (hopefully) D&D. We haven't had a game in a few weeks due to holidays and things, and now apparently an old member is returning to us (although her character is hostage a long way from where we are, and not really in a position to get back to us) and there is some out of character shit that could spill out due to relationship breakdowns and my short temper. And the fact that the GM can't remember where we last were.
Also, Co-Op truly irresistable triple chocolate cookies are things that should be eaten infrequently. I've had two today, and I feel like shit. Too much sugar, too much chocolate.
I should go and make some food and do some knitting (I'm getting better! I'm one day closer to trusting myself with the pretty wool I want to make a scarf from!)
